In accordance with the curvature radius, elbows can be classified into the long radius elbow and short radius elbow.

Long radius elbow of pipe diameter,its radius of curvature is equal to 1.5 times,namely R=1.5D.Short radius elbow refers to its radius of curvature is equal to the outer diameter of pipes,namely R=1D.

According to the angle of elbows, there are 30deg elbow, 45 degree elbow, 90 degree elbow,180 degree elbow. In the pipeline system, elbows are used to change the direction of pipes.

The materials for elbows cover carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel. For carbon steel elbows, they will be painted to black color. If material is stainless steel, it’s not necessary to be painted. A234 WPB is in common use all over the world. If the sizes for both diameters are not equal, it is called reducing elbow. With good over-all properties, elbows have a wide application range, such as chemistry, space industry, shipbuilding and so on.
